Stages of Formation

Formation in CLW is a highly structured process. All members of the Order go through the same process regardless of whether they are lay or ordained. The formation process consists of both one-on-one and communal instruction. The brother or sister will work closely with the Director of Formation throughout their journey with more one-on-one instruction occurring during the Novitiate stage.

The formation process follows a specific program developed by Br. Dunstan called "The Way of the Restless Heart". During this program, the brother or sister will be immersed in and will learn, live, and share the ethos of Augustinian Spirituality.

The program includes three phases that spans 12 months.

  • Phase 1 Interiority: Finding Truth in the Heart.
