In short, an Augustinian religious profession is the voluntary gift of oneself to a community of friends who, through the grace of God and the practice of the evangelical counsels, seek to become "one" in their search for the Truth.
In CLW, a religious profession is much more than a legal contract or a set of prohibitions. It is an "external manifestation of an internal determination" to live in a community of love, seeking God together. While it involves the vows of the Evangelical Councils; poverty, chastity, and obedience, these are interpreted through St. Augustine’s unique emphasis on interiority, community, and friendship.
To "profess" as an Augustinian is to commit to a journey (peregrinatio) where the goal is not individual perfection in isolation, but a communal movement toward God.
In CLW, we pray for new brothers and sisters who seek to grow spiritually; ever drawing nearer to Christ, to live according to the Gospels, and to work in service to Christ and others.
In CLW, we take our vows seriously and hope those who pursue a religious vocation with CLW will do so also. We welcome anyone who feels called to religious life with open arms and a warm welcome. With that being said, CLW is not a community for those who are looking to cosplay as monastics with feigned humility and pretend holiness. We are also not a stop along one's way to ordination. A religious profession is a serious commitment to God and one's religious community and involves a life-long journey of self-reflection, accountability, and conversion.
O Lord, Holy Father, you call us to be one in mind and heart as we journey toward you. We thank you for the gift of the Augustinian Canons of Our Lady of Walsingham, born of prayer and the breath of your Holy Spirit.
We humbly ask you to look with favor upon your Church and send forth laborers into your harvest. Stir the hearts of those you are calling to this new charism. Grant them the courage of the Blessed Virgin Mary to say "Yes" to your hidden designs, and the wisdom of St. Augustine to seek you above all things.
May those who feel the nudge of the Spirit find here a home of fraternal charity and active service. Strengthen them in their discernment, that they may join us in living the Gospel with zeal and devotion.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Those who belong to a church that is not officially in communion with the See of Canterbury may still pursue a vocation with CLW if:
We are a community of lay and ordained men and women and do not discriminate on the basis of gender, sex, race/ethnicity, or sexual orientation, and professed members may be married or celibate.
If you feel the "still, small voice" of the Holy Spirit nudging you toward a life of prayer, community, and active service, we invite you to walk this path of discernment with us. Whether you are certain of your calling or simply wish to learn more about our charism and the Rule of St. Augustine, our doors and hearts are open to you.
"You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You." — St. Augustine
